Hastings resident Kathleen Alice Trausch, 71, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at her home. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings, NE. with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Assumption, NE. Visitation will be on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 12:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. at Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, NE. Family will be present from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., June 5, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings, NE. Memorials may be given to the Special Olympics of Hastings, Hastings Catholic Social Services, St. Michael’s Catholic Church or to the family for a later designation. Kathleen Alice (Pitz) Trausch was born October 6, 1954 in Aurora, Illinois, to Francis & Dolores (White) Pitz. She graduated in 1972 from Aurora Central Catholic High School in Aurora, Illinois. Kathy worked at Old Second National Bank after high school. She married Norbert Trausch on April 20, 1974 in Aurora, Illinois. Kathy was a homemaker while raising children at home. She later worked as the Activities Director at the nursing home in Kenesaw, NE. Kathy did clean houses on the side, wrote for the Blue Hill Leader for a few years, and worked as a caregiver privately and for Mid-Nebraska Individual Services. She owned Kathy’s Balloons & Bouquets in Roseland for 10 years. Kathy was a member and past officer of Altar Society and Sacred Heart Church Board in Roseland, NE. She was a past member of the Silver Lake PTO, taught CCD & CYO for Sacred Heart & Assumption Parishes for several years. Kathy was an active member of South Central Right to Life, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and Special Olympics of Hastings, NE. Kathy’s greatest accomplishment was her family whom she loved tremendously.
