Larry was born February 2, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana, to Charles C. Kelley and Margaret J. Shane. When he was 2 days old his mother passed away. He then went on living with his grandparents (Kelley) because his father was in the military. When he was 2 years old his father married Ester L. Robertson. Larry graduated from Littleton High School with the class of 1960. He attended Western Nebraska Community College where he studied Radio Broadcasting.

Larry married Viola Pearl Condry on February 4, 1967, in Denver, Colorado. He worked for the county road department in Hemingford, NE, and Berea, NE; was an electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad in Alliance, NE; delivery driver for Ideal Linen in Alliance, NE; custodian at Scottsbluff Middle School. Due to a car accident in 1989, he was forced to retire from the workforce. Larry was the strongest, most silliest, and best storyteller. He prided himself in running sound for the churches he attended for 20+ plus years and his big legacy!

Larry is survived by his three daughters Cheri (Jeff) Ourada of Franklin, NE, Tanya (Tink)(David) Montgomery of Scottsbluff, NE, and Trina Kelley of Hastings, NE; 12 grandchildren; Steven Montgomery (Bailey Bollig), Jason Pierce, Daniel (Cortney) Pierce, Tanya (Rick) Lockwood, Trista (Jovey) Olena, Nickole (David) Sheldon, Anthony Pierce, Michael Pierce, Jaissa Pierce (Mark Harris), Catana (His brat) (Caleb) Kidd, Quincey Brown, and DJ Rice; 42 great-grandchildren; 1 soon to be great-great-granddaughter.
