Larry Spencer

Hastings resident Larry G. Spencer, 68, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday with family present at the funeral home. Larry preferred memorials which may be given to the Spencer Memorial c/o Joan Spencer.

Larry was born August 14, 1950, in Hastings, NE to George N. & Betty Ann (Warner) Spencer. He graduated from Hastings High School and Hastings College. Larry married Joan M. Haverkamp on April 15, 1989, in Plainview, NE.

Larry was an elementary teacher in Kearney for 11 years. He owned and operated Midtowne Mart in Hastings. He was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral and was a past member of Hastings Noon Rotary Club. Larry was Board President of Gingerbread Daycare and account manager of Midwest Engine Services.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother.
