Larry William Wood

Hastings resident Larry William Wood, 84, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at his home.

There will be no services or visitation as Larry wished to be cremated. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. 

He was born on January 7, 1941, in Mount Sterling, Ohio, to Charles and Virginia (Richardson) Wood.

Larry graduated High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he dedicated many years to a career in transportation, working as a terminal manager at Werner Enterprises until his retirement in 2010.

On July 5, 1997, Larry married Patricia “Pat” Shuck, and together they shared a loving and devoted partnership. He was a passionate golfer and could often be found on the course enjoying the game and the camaraderie it brought. Larry will be remembered for his dedication to family, strong work ethic, and love of the outdoors. He was very active with the Masons and sang with the Chorus of the Plains.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia; father, Charles Wood; and step-mother, Elizabeth Wood.
