LaVon E. (Marsh) (Waldron) Bridwell

Lincoln resident LaVon E. (Marsh) (Waldron) Bridwell, 94, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., July 27, 2026, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Jacob Krueger officiating. Burial will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. LaVon was born April 11, 1932, in Hastings, NE, to Francis & Sarah “Opal” (Delehoy) Marsh. LaVon devoted many years to serving as a preschool teacher, where her gentle spirit, patience, and love for children made a lasting impact on generations of students.

A lifelong, faithful member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), LaVon was an active member at Southview Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she was a devoted member of Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF). Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others.

LaVon and her husband, the Rev. Richard Waldron, were united in marriage on November 6, 1949. They shared many happy years together until his passing on October 16, 1984. She later married Edward Bridwell on June 3, 1989, he preceded her in death.

In 2005, LaVon relocated from Rockport, Texas, to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she continued to be active in her church and enjoyed being closer to family and friends.

LaVon will be remembered for her unwavering faith, caring heart, gentle nature, and the love she shared so freely with everyone she met. Her life was one of service, compassion, and quiet strength, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

LaVon’s family extends a special thank you to Fallbrook Assisted Living Staff for making Fallbrook her home the last 4 years. 

LaVon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Bryant; and granddaughter, Jessica.
