Hastings resident, Lewis F. “Luke” Lukas, 94, passed away December 7, 2025 at Mary Lanning Healthcare.
Graveside services with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be held Monday, December 15; 2:00 P.M. at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. with Fr. Craig Clinch officiating, Visitation will be Monday, December 15, 2025, with family present from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. and rosary beginning at 1:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or Start Over Rover. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Lewis “Luke” Lukas was born on August 5, 1931, to Lewis and Cloetta (Schmidt) Lukas in Blue Hill, NE. He attended Blue Hill High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was proud to be a veteran. Following his military service Luke worked at General Motors in Detroit, Michigan.
Luke married Rose Mary Sagady and the two were blessed with a daughter, Brenda, in 1966. A few years later the couple parted and Luke married Shirley Marlowe.
Luke was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Lukas; sisters: Dorothy Roskilly, Mary Werner, and Mildred Roudebush; and his son Jason Lukas.
He is survived by his daughters; Brenda Lukas and Erin Lukas, brother; James Lukas, five grandchildren, former wife; Rose Mary, and numerous other family members.
