Lewis D. "Dale" Pospisil Jr.

Hastings resident Lewis D. “Dale” Pospisil Jr., 86, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 22, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., May 22 at Kenesaw Cemetery in Kenesaw. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 21 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Dale was born on February 12, 1939, to Lewis “Tobe” & Ann (Morgan) Pospisil in Exeter, NE. He graduated from Friend High School in 1956. Dale married Karen Brannagan on April 8, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenesaw. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Dale was the CEO for Heartland CO-OP; retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Hastings Grain Exchange, CPI, and FCC. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; infant grandson, Brett Pospisil; sister & spouse, Marica & Gene Mika; brother, Bob Pospisil; brothers-in-law, Dean Kruger and Dale St. Louis; and sister-in-law, Karolyn Pospisil.
