Lloyd J. Stahnke, 95, of Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska died, Friday, October 30, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.

Services are Tuesday, November 3, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska with Pastor Jeff Glawe officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2009; 1P.M. - 9P.M. with family present 6P.M. until 9P.M. at Butler Volland Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Glenvil Cemetery Association.

Lloyd J. Stahnke was born March 5, 1914 in Glenvil, Nebraska to August & Carrie (Moser) Stahnke. Lloyd married Ruth Hoppens on September 3, 1941 and she preceded him in death on August 17, 1999. Lloyd was the manager of Silver Fox Farm of Fairfield, and then moved to Hastings in 1941 to work at K & R Packing Company. In 1947 he moved back to Glenvil and owned and operated Glenvil Locker and Grocery; during that time he also was a rural mail carrier. Lloyd then worked at Custom Pack in Hastings until he retired in 1979.Lloyd was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and baseball player, playing semi - pro baseball in central Nebraska.

Lloyd J. Stahnke was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth Stahnke, four brothers, two infant brothers and one infant sister.
