Hastings resident Loree I. McCord, 91, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Parkview Cemetery, with Pastor Krystal Kennard officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Edgewood Memory Care of Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Loree was born on January 10, 1935, at the family farm home in the rural Frontier County six miles south of Farnam, Nebraska, to Harold and Viola (Johnson) Lehman. The family attended Sunday School and church services at the rural Lone Star Community Church. She continued her faith since March 1937 in the Church of the Nazarene.
The Lehman’s moved in March 1937 five miles north of Farnam. Loree resided there until adulthood. She attended grades 1 through 8 at District 51, a one-room country school. Graduating from Farnam Public High School in 1952. In high school, she completed the course of Normal training, then taught north of Gothenburg in Custer County the following two years.
She married Charles W. Issacs, a member of USMC on September 22, 1954. They lived in North Carolina, California, and Nebraska; they later separated. On August 17, 1964, she married Charles D. McCord. They resided in Hastings, Nebraska, where he preceded her in death on January 13, 1980
Her career in Government Civil Service began in North Carolina and continued until retirement on May 27, 1987, while serving as Claims Representative with the Social Security Administration.
Loree was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles McCord, daughter; Debra Willy, and great-granddaughter; Alexis Longshore.
