Lucille L Watts

Hastings resident Lucille L. Watts, 90, formerly of Lincoln, NE. passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Mary Lanning Health Care with her family by her side.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 4, 2026, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Private family burial will take place later at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Lucille was born on a farm southwest of Hastings on March 7, 1936, to Arthur and Mabel (Pfeifer) Uhrmacher. She was one of 9 siblings. Raised on a farm, the work ethic she showed carried on throughout her adult life.

Lucille graduated from Hastings High School in 1954. Lucy started her work career at the Strand Theater, then went on to work for several ladies' “ready to wear” stores and several banks. She finally ended her employment at her “fun” job at LaMar’s Donuts in Lincoln, NE. Lucy Married Marvin Kerr on April 11, 1953. To that union, they had three children, Debra, Craig, and Laurie.

In June of 1986, she married Jim Watts in Las Vegas, NV. They resided in Colorado Springs, CO, before he retired from the military and then moved to Lincoln, NE. This marriage lasted for 30 years before he died in 2017.

In November of 2022, Lucy moved back to Hastings to be closer to her family. Lucy’s favorite thing to do was to play games. She and her high school classmate, Ollie Howard, played Rummikube for hours on end.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Elmer, Muriel, Helen, Hazel, Erma, Inez, LaNora, and Eddie, her daughter Debra Harris, and son Craig.

Survivors: Children & Spouses: Laurie Hawes (Tom); Son-in-law: Jim Harris (Darcy); Daughter-in-law: Susan Kerr Geiser (Paul); Grandchildren: Lisa Hewson (Roger), Ashley James, Nicole Kerr (Juventino), Kelsey Keever (Brian), Kellen Fraser (Brooke);  10 Great Grandchildren: Bonus Grandchildren: Becky Crecelius (Jeff), Chris Hawes (Abbie), Devon Hawes (Amanda); 11 Bonus Great Grandchildren.
