Cozad resident, Manuel R. Ramirez, 73, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Hastings, Nebraska.

Private family services will be held. Private family burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to Kidney Foundation. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Manuel was born December 3, 1939 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Donicio & Carmen (Rodrigez) Ramirez. He married Julia Hernandez on August 7, 1961 in Fort Collins, Colorado; they later divorced. Manuel worked at Monroe Tenneco Automotive and served in the National Guard in Wyoming and Colorado.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen Ramirez; and several other family members.
