Margaret Jean (Gundersen) Piel

Fort Collins, CO resident Margaret Jean (Gundersen) Piel, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at her home, in the company of loved ones.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Hanover Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery, Glenvil NE. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Margaret was born May 28, 1944, in Hastings, NE to Kermit and Anna (Rothfuss) Gundersen. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1962. Margaret owned and operated a housekeeping business for the elderly and homebound. She was a past member of the GTO Car Club in Fort Collins. Margaret enjoyed spending her time training Morgan horses, owning and showing her GTO, spending time outdoors and in the mountains. She never passed up a good conversation, cup of coffee or a sweet treat. Her quick wit, frank and loving nature made her loved and appreciated by family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna Busboom, Virginia Busboom, and Glenda Bell; brother, Dean Gundersen; and three great-grandchildren.
