Marilyn Bergman

Hastings resident, Marilyn J. Bergman, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010; 3:00 P.M. Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Marilyn was born September 9, 1938 in Hastings, Nebraska to Marion & Wilma (Dier) Simmons. Marilyn's father was in the U.S. Navy for several years and the family lived in the state of Washington and then moved to Hastings. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1956. Marilyn married Rod Bergman on October 6, 1956. She volunteered a lot and worked as a secretary for Brach-Thompson Company. She received her private pilot's license while working in their aerial spraying business at the Hastings Municipal Airport. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi organization.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
