Marilyn Buttell

Marilyn Kae Buttell, 71, of 3111 West 7th, died, Friday, October 30, 2009 in Hastings.

Rosary will be Tuesday, November 3, 2009; 7:00P.M. at St.Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 4, 2009; 10:30A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church for masses to be celebrated in her name.

Marilyn Kae Buttell was born May 31, 1938 in Brunswick, Nebraska to Rex & Mildred (Wahrer) Shacklett. During WWII she moved with her family to Hastings and attended public school graduating in 1956 from Hastings Senior High School. Marilyn married Gerald "Jerry" E. Buttell Jr. on October 19, 1957 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Marilyn started working part time for LT&T in 1955 and retired as a full time customer service representative in 2000. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Altar Society and Lochland County Club. She was a former member of LT&T Pioneer's. Marilyn loved animals including the family bulldog Tuffy. She had a super green thumb when it came to caring for plants and flowers. Marilyn loved her family and adored her grandchildren.

Marilyn Kae Buttell was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister Meredyth Shacklett in 1955.
