Mary Steinkruger

Hastings resident Mary Ann Steinkruger, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, McCook, NE.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to Orphan Grain Train. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday with family present 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Mary Ann was born on June 7, 1933, in Hastings, NE to Edward & Margaret (Katzberg) Von Kampen. She graduated from Hastings High School. Mary Ann married Neal Steinkruger on April 13, 1991; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2002.

Mary Ann worked as the office manager at Central Dental Group in Hastings for over 50 years until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mary Ann was the “duck lady” at Heartwell Park. She wintered in Arizona. Mary Ann loved her roses spending time in her garden, and spending time with her family. She was a mother to many and cared for everyone.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Neal Steinkruger.
