Hastings resident Maxine E. Sandoe, 90, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society- Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.
Private family graveside service will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
Maxine was born on December 30, 1934, in Smith Center, KS, she was the daughter of Vivian and Cordilla (Bates) Myers. She graduated from Naponee High School in Naponee, NE, in 1953.
On August 2, 1959, Maxine married the love of her life, Lloyd W. Sandoe; he preceded her in death on May 31, 2024. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and community. A devoted homemaker, Maxine took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home.
She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church, where she found comfort, strength, and lasting friendships. Maxine enjoyed crocheting, visiting with friends, and square dancing—activities that reflected her creativity, warmth, and joy for life.
Maxine will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd W. Sandoe; two infant sisters; brother, Jake V. Myers; and daughters, Janice L. (Sandoe) Glover and Waunita J. (Sandoe) Longshore.
