Melody A. Jensen

Hastings resident Melody Ann Jensen, 79, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, Nebraska, with Pastors Cliff and Henrietta Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE, at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.

Melody was born February 7, 1947, in Hastings, NE, and adopted by Herman and Rachael (Mahoney) Neumann. Melody graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1965 and attended nursing school. Melody married Monte D. Jensen on June 4, 1967. Melody was a bus monitor for Hastings Public Schools prior to her retirement.

Melody found joy in the simple things in life and treasured the time she spent with those around her. She was an avid reader and enjoyed getting lost in a good book. She especially enjoyed participating in the many activities at Good Samaritan, where she made memories and enjoyed time with others. Melody looked forward to gathering with her ladies’ coffee group and was also a member of a book club. She enjoyed being creative through crafts and found happiness in keeping busy and trying new things.

Melody and Monte shared a love of traveling and camping, making many special memories together along the way. Whether traveling to new places, sitting around a campsite, enjoying a good book, or visiting with friends, Melody appreciated the moments that made life special. Above all, she cherished her family and the time they shared together. Her family will remember her for the love, warmth, and memories she gave them throughout the years.

Melody was preceded in death by her parents.
