Merlyn Rader

Trumbull resident Merlyn Rader, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Tabitha in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, at Stockham Community Church in Stockham, Nebraska, with Pastor Rick Bartek officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, Nebraska.   Memorials may be given to the Christian Resource Center. Merlyn was born January 9, 1935, in Hastings, NE, to Glenn & Lila (Swanson) Rader. Merlyn married Lucile Chaney on May 31, 1953. Throughout his life, Merlyn dedicated himself to honest labor, working as a farmer, bricklayer and a truck driver. Outside of work, Merlyn found joy in painting and fixing up old cars and trucks. He loved following his grandkids sports and activities.

Merlyn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucile (Chaney) Rader; 2 sisters, and a brother.
