Michael J. "Mike" Young

Michael J. “Mike” Young, 80, of Hastings, passed away at home on June 14, 2025.

Born July 30, 1944, in Sac City, IA, Mike was a hardworking and kindhearted man, best known for his dedication in the floor covering industry and his volunteer service at Good Samaritan Village. He married Judy (Dyer) in 1966, sharing nearly six decades of love.

Mike enjoyed woodworking, tending flowers, following the Premier League, collecting Texaco banks, and participating in his book club at the Village.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Julie Merryman, and grandson Phyllip Young. He is survived by his wife Judy, children Steven (Marlena), Troy (Maggie), and Staci (Larry Ludwig), nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and siblings Katie (Carl) Shaw, Mary Custer, and Keith Young.

Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, at All Saints Chapel – Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.
