Hastings resident Myron W. Peters, 78, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Lincoln, NE.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. with the family present 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The family kindly asks for casual attire be worn upon your choosing to attend the services. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Myron was born on February 6, 1947, to Fred and Edna Peters in Heron Lake, MN. He grew up on a farm near Okabena, MN. Myron attended school at Rust Lutheran School and graduated from Okabena High School in Okabena, MN. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rust Township, Lakefield, MN on March 9, 1947, and later confirmed there. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from March 8, 1966 to March 7, 1968 and was inactive from 1968 to 1972.
Myron was united in marriage to Winona Howell on June 23, 1968, at the Church of Christ in Chester, NE. The marriage was blessed with two children, Christi and Todd.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings. He was a head church usher and served on many councils.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Peters.
