Neal was born on July 27, 1953, to Howard and Norma (Andrews) Kreutz. He graduated from Trumbull High School in 1971. After graduation, he went to Denver Mechanic School. He married in 1974 and later divorced. His pride and joy were his children, Todd and Christopher.
Neal had a lifelong passion for athletics. He loved playing football and baseball and found great joy in coaching Little League and Legion ball, where he mentored and encouraged countless young athletes. His love for sports extended well beyond the field, as he was a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan and proudly held season tickets for many years. One of his favorite memories came when he appeared on the cover of Time magazine in a photograph taken during a Nebraska football game.
Neal found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He rarely missed the opportunity to cheer them on at their sporting events, proudly supporting them from the sidelines and celebrating their accomplishments both on and off the field. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Neal had a gift for making people laugh. His smile, stories, and ability to brighten someone's day will be remembered by all who knew him.
Neal is preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher Kreutz; sister, Janet Richards; and stepdad, Merle Hoffman.
