Patricia Ann "Patty" Bigley

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Bigley (Patty), who peacefully left this world at age 56, surrounded by family on May 5, 2026.

Patricia was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on July 3, 1969, to Donald and Janice (Sims) Bigley. Patty graduated from Hastings High School in 1987, where she was a spirited athlete who found great joy on the volleyball court and in the shot put and discus ring.

After moving to Colorado, Patty spent many years in the car rental industry, holding her final position with Hertz. Later in life, she moved to Reno, Nevada, with her family, where they shared many adventures. Eventually, her heart led her back to Nebraska, where she embraced her favorite role as an aunt and great-aunt.

Patty was a woman of heart who loved holidays and music. Patty was a passionate animal lover, especially when it came to her final fur baby, Kyle Junior, who brought immense joy to her life. Born just shy of Independence Day, she lived for the 4th of July and Husker red. Between her favorite songs and her Saturday devotion to college football, Patty knew exactly how to celebrate life's greatest hits. She was the definition of a firecracker—friendly, spirited, and possessing a spunky personality that made everyone smile. Beneath that joyful sparkle was a woman of incredible strength and courage-a fighter who faced life’s challenges, including her battle with multiple sclerosis.

Patty leaves behind a legacy of cherished, heartfelt friendships and a lifetime of laughter shared with those she held dear. Though we will miss her presence daily, we find comfort in knowing she has gained her wings and will now watch over her loved ones from above.

Patty is survived by her sister, brothers-in-law, niece, nephews, and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Janice Bigley; her brother, Michael Bigley; and her sister, Michele Jakubowski.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held privately with family and close friends in Omaha and Colorado at a later date.
