Roseland resident Paul R. Kothe, 84, passed away on February 12, 2024, at his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Hastings with Pastor Jonathan Jahorek officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hastings. Visitation will be 1-5 Sunday, February 18, at the funeral home and one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.
Paul was born on April 15, 1939, to Eddie & Leona (Tanner) Kothe in Juniata, Nebraska. He graduated from Hastings High in 1957. Paul served in the Army National Guard Reserve from 1957 – 1964. He married Shirley Buss on November 16, 1958. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad. Paul also owned and operated Kothe Construction and Kothe Trucking LLC until he retired in 2004
Paul’s God-given gift was his music. He started the Paul Kothe Orchestra in 1961 and played the accordion. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and son, Ricky Kothe.
