Peggy Jo Crawford

Hastings resident Peggy Jo Crawford, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Rev. Andy Springer officiating. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery, Prosser, Nebraska where she will be reunited with her husband. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Peggy was born November 1, 1955, to Lawrence & Trionne (Gangwish) Brown in Hastings, Nebraska. She graduated from Roseland High School in 1974. She married Scott Crawford on September 3, 1983. Peggy, and her husband Scott, owned and operated the family business “Willow Lake Fish Hatchery” for many years. Peggy also enjoyed a part-time job as a Keno operator at “Katie’s” Bar in Doniphan. 

Peggy was a fun-loving person always the life of the party, and never knew a stranger. Traveling was very important to her. She took frequent trips with her family on many adventures. She particularly enjoyed trips to Mexico to see her exchange student brothers. Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, some of which included making blue jean quilts, collecting fancy eggs, and having a variety of pets including emus, dogs, cats, cows, sheep, hamsters, birds, bunnies, and fish. Family was the most important priority to Peggy. She was particularly fond of her grandchildren, whom she adored. Peggy hosted many family gatherings throughout the years. She will be missed. 
 

Peggy was preceded in death by her father and her husband.
