Rebecca "Becky" E. Foote

Former Hastings resident Rebecca E. “Becky” Foote, 68, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at CHI St. Francis in Grand Island, NE.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 10:30 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings with Pastor Greg Allen-Pickett officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be at Butler Volland funeral home, Hastings, NE. on Monday, March 23, 2026, 3:00-7:00 p.m., with family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Public Schools Foundation in support of Special Education Services. Becky was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on July 15, 1957. She attended Spencer Park School and later Hastings Publics Schools. Becky was proud to be a “Tiger” and “Husker.” She loved her family dearly and they loved her deeply. Becky faced many obstacles in her lifetime and always persevered. Becky was funny, kind, considerate, and sometimes naughty – always smiling along the way. Music was a big part of her life. She loved her pets Mikey and Peppy and time spent with people everywhere. Becky appreciated the support she received during her time spent in workshops over the years, including at Goodwill Industries and Integrated Life Choices in Grand Island. And she enjoyed sharing her love of Dairy Queen by buying gift cards for her loved ones for every occasion.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. “Bob” Foote, her grandparents Leo and Ellen Fletcher and Robert G. and Garnet Foote. They were all a very big part of her life when she was growing up. She loved reminiscing about all the memories she treasured.

Survivors include her mother, Jane Foote of Hastings, siblings Amy (Brad) White, Omaha, Bob Foote (Kayla LaMar), Hastings, nephews and nieces Brett (Tray) White, Duxbury, MA, Jon and Arlo Foster-White, Omaha, Ellen Foote (Matt Ginger), Lincoln, Jared (Kendall) Foote, Denver CO, Robb Foote, Omaha. Great nephews Walker and Ollie White, great niece Lucy White all of Duxbury, MA, and very special house parents Veronica Soto and Paige Denman, Grand Island, along with their sons Steven (Breonna) Soto and Sullivan, Andrew (Valeria) Denman and Gabriela. She was also survived by loving cousins and so many special friends.
