Rev. Richard L. Jobman, 93, of 821 Richmond, Hastings, and Nebraska died, Friday, December 15, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion in Hastings. Services will be Wednesday, December 20,2006; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Hastings. Visitation will be Monday from 1P.M. until 9P.M. and Tuesday from 9A.M. until 9P.M. with family present from 7P.M until 9P.M. at Butler Volland Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to the Pastor Richard L. Jobman Memorial Fund.

Pastor Jobman was born May 10, 1913 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Herman & Rena C. (Cross) Jobman. Richard graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1931. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1937 and the Chicago Lutheran Seminary in 1940. On May 16, 1940 he was ordained at Hooper, Nebraska. Pastor Jobman served in four different parishes. St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Creston, Nebraska from May 20, 1940 to June 30, 1946. He also supplied Immanuel Lutheran Church at Madison, Nebraska for most of that time. Havelock Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Nebraska from July 1, 1946, to December 7, 1947. St. John's Lutheran Church, Norfolk, Nebraska from December 10,1947 to May 31, 1978, where he retired at the age of 65 years. Part-time visitation pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska from August 1, 1978 to September 30, 1995 where he had his second retirement at the age of 82 years. Pastor Jobman was named Pastor Emeritus of St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk when he retired in 1978. The new education wing at St. John's Lutheran, Norfolk, in 1993 was named the Jobman Education Center. In 2005 he celebrated his 65th year in ministry.

Richard married Edna Grothen at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings on June 19, 1955. He enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, husker football and attending his granddaughter's activities. He traveled to Davenport, Iowa to enjoy the concerts at First Presbyterian Church where his son Steven is Minister of Music.

Pastor Jobman was preceded in death by his parents and brother Walter Jobman.
