Trumbull resident Robert H. “Bob” Lubken, 91, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.
Burial with military rites by the Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at 9 a.m. Monday, October 7, at Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 7, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. with the family present 4-5 p.m. Sunday, October 6, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE, or Lutheran Memorial, Pierre, SD. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Bob was born January 1, 1933, in Fosston, MN to Henry and Pearl (Barnes) Lubken. He graduated from Fosston High School in Fosston, MN in 1950, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hastings College in 1959. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He married Bonnie Kottwitz on September 2, 1956; she preceded him in death on February 25, 2007.
Bob was employed by T & L Irrigation for 69 years. He was the first full-time employee of T & L, and his family would like to say thank you to the T & L family for all their support. Bob was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and was on the Church Council. He was a private pilot which he enjoyed. Bob always had black labs which were his favorite dog, he still had his black lab Ty which he loved very much. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the cabin at Lake Oahe in South Dakota with family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Lubken; sister, Percy Maul; brother-in-law, Roger Larson; and sister-in-law and spouse, Mary Ann & Weir John.
