Robert Milton Singley was born October 18, 1943, in Benkelman, NE to Milton and Erma Singley. He was the youngest in a family with three sisters, growing up on the family ranch in Parks, NE.

He met and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Sue Koons, in Parks. They wed on August 16, 1964. After high school, he began his career with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission at the Rock Creek Fish Hatchery. Robert and Mary Sue welcomed a son, Rob, and a daughter, Brenda, while in Parks. Their next adventure brought them to the Grove Trout Rearing Station in Royal, NE as Robert was promoted. Here their family grew when their daughter, Angela, was born. Robert and Mary Sue enjoyed the activities of their children. They traveled often to visit family and many times took advantage of Robert’s pilot skills on those visits. Robert and the kids lost their beloved wife and mom in 1990. A few years later, Robert retired and was named an Honorary Admiral in the Navy of the Great State of Nebraska. He was also immensely patriotic and served in the Nebraska National Guard as an E5 Sergeant.

Robert enjoyed welcoming his grandchildren over the years as he lived in Fremont and later Chadron. On June 19, 2000, he married Sharon Witt. They spent many weekends winning awards and trophies at car shows. Robert was meticulous and had such pride in his restoration work. They also spent many winters enjoying the warmth of Lake Havasu City, AZ. They transitioned to Hastings, NE in 2022. Robert helped Sharry in her garden and they enjoyed day trips throughout Nebraska and the Midwest.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue; parents, Milton and Erma; and sisters, Gloria Baker and Donna Myers.
