Robert A Stromer

Hastings resident Robert A. Stromer, 74, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at his home with family by his side.

Services will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Robert was born December 7, 1951, in Hastings, NE, to Donald and Darlene (Burr) Stromer. He graduated from Hastings High School and received a degree in small-engine repair.

Robert farmed for many years, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and practical nature. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and took great pride in being able to repair just about anything. Whether it was machinery, small engines, or everyday household items, Robert enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how things worked and bringing them back to life. Family and friends knew that if something was broken, Robert was the person to call.

When he wasn't working, Robert could often be found in his shop or garage, happily tinkering on a project. He found satisfaction in staying busy, solving problems, and improving whatever was in front of him. More than anything, Robert treasured the time he spent with his family and those closest to him. He will be remembered for his quiet determination, dependable nature, willingness to lend a helping hand, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
