Ronald Barnes, Jr

Hastings resident Ronald Jerod "RJ" Barnes, Jr., 26, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Prayer Service is 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the RJ Barnes, Jr. Memorial Fund. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

RJ was born August 6, 1991 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ronald J. Sr. & Leona E. (Richey) Barnes. He received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Park University in Parkville, MO. RJ married Shelbi L. Carpenter on December 9, 2017 in Hastings.

RJ was employed at Great Western Bank in Grand Island, NE. He enjoyed wood working and working with his hands. RJ attended North Shore Assembly of God Church and the most important thing to RJ was his family.
