Roscoe H. Curtis, 92, of Sunnyside Home, 1401 N. Hastings, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial service will be Sunday, July 28, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Doug Griger officiating. Private family interment at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Roscoe H. Curtis was born December 1, 1909 in Sacramento, Nebraska to Albert Theodore & Anna Carolina (Person) Curtis. He attended elementary school in Norman, Nebraska. He moved with his family to Harvard, Nebraska and graduated from Harvard High School in 1927. Following graduation, he and his brother, Kenneth, operated the family dry cleaning and laundry service until the out break of WWII. During WWII, he was assigned to the 1902nd Engineer Aviation Battalion of the United States Army, serving in both the Atlantic & Pacific Theaters of war. Following his discharge from the separation center at Fort Logan, Colorado on December 17, 1945, he returned to Hastings, Nebraska and attended Hastings College, graduating in 1949. After graduation, he was employed by the Peter Kiewit, Missouri Valley Construction Company, retiring in 1974.

Roscoe H. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Paul C & Kenneth D. Curtis.
