Ruth M. Pezley

Hastings resident Ruth M. Pezley, 72, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.    

Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 15, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain Lisa Ewald officiating. No burial will be held at this time. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to Relay For Life or the American Cancer Society. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Ruth was born December 7, 1951, in Aurora, NE to Kenneth E. and Lucile C. (Ruebsamen) Dangler. She attended Giltner Public Schools. Ruth married Gary Behrends in 1968 and to this union, two children were born; they later divorced. She married Chester Pezley on June 16, 1978, in Montrose, IA; he preceded her in death on January 6, 2008. 

Ruth owned and operated Hastings Letter Shop and was a plate setter at Paperworks Packaging from 1975 to 2014 when she retired. She loved going to the casino, traveling, and camping. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  

 Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Pezley; step-son, Aaron Pezley; and one step-grandson.
