Sandra "Sandi" Gingrich

Hastings resident Sandra Lee “Sandi” Gingrich, 51, went to meet her heavenly Father on Thursday, August 2, 2018, due to complications of early onset dementia in conjunction with Down Syndrome at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.

Celebration of Life is 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Hastings with Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. A luncheon will be held following service at the church. Private family burial will be in Roseland Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Book signing will be 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Sandi was born on January 4, 1967, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE. A lifetime resident of Adams County, Sandi grew up on a farm near Ayr. After attending Hastings Public Schools, Sandi became involved with Mid-Nebraska Individual Services learning life skills. Sandi was a Special Olympics athlete. She attended and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. Once her family moved to Hastings, she became a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Sandi was preceded in death by her father, John Gingrich and grandparents, Vern & Ella Ostrander and Albert & Clio Gingrich.
