Sharon Young

Hastings resident, Sharon K. Young, 76, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Kenesaw Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and one hour prior to service. Memorials may be given to the family for memorial at a later date.

Sharon was born January 24, 1941 to Harold & Eunice (Henderson) Rathjen in Inavale, Nebraska. She married George Young on March 1, 1986. Her main goal in life and her most valuable possession was her family. She had a great heart for education and teaching. Sharon had an enormous love for animals and plants.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; children, Harold D. Salmon Jr. and Kimberly K. Stamper; sister, Dixie Durham; and brother, Wally Rathjen.
