Sharren Speth

Juniata resident Sharren Ann (Theesen) Speth, 75, died Sunday, February 17, 2019, at her son’s home in Lincoln, NE.

Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Andrea Paulson officiating. Graveside Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Steele City Cemetery in Steele City, NE with Pastor Brian Julin-McCleary officiating. Memorials may be given to Steele City Cemetery Association, 500 East Main Street, Steele City, NE 68440. Book signing is 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Sharren was born May 16, 1943, in Hastings, NE to Charles & Bonnie (Rosenau) Theesen. She was baptized and confirmed at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. Sharren lived most of her life in Juniata, NE. She worked at Mode O Day as a seamstress; Ebko Boat Factory as manager of the upholstery department; Hastings Industries as a welder; and retired as Food Service Manager at Hastings Regional Center. In her younger days, she enjoyed boating and water skiing. Sharren loved cooking, gardening, canning, reading, fishing, camping, and family reunions. Sharren loved Husker football and volleyball parties with Roseland and Juniata friends. She enjoyed volunteering for senior citizen activities and lunch/funeral services at the church.

Sharren graduated in 1961 from Hastings High School and attended Hastings College for 1 ½ years. She married Richard Speth on July 24, 1964, in Fairbury, NE. Sharren wanted to thank Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings and the Fred and Pam Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, NE for her care while sick. Thank you AseraCare Hospice for their care. A special thanks to the family and friends who visited and called.

Sharren was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Speth; parents, Charles & Bonnie Theesen; sister, Charlene Storant; brother, Charles “Chuck” Theesen, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Janessa Lynn Speth-Skinner.
