Shirley M. Timmerman

Hastings resident Shirley M. Timmerman, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 11, at Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings with Herb Scott officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. with the family present on Friday, July 10 and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Shirley was born June 23, 1937, in Wilcox, NE, to John and Margaret (Johnson) Stuhmer. She graduated from Hildreth High School. She was married to her beloved husband, Bennie Timmerman, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.

Shirley was employed at Cornhusker Press for 25 years, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She took pride in her work and formed many lasting friendships throughout her years there.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents;  husband; son, Brian J. Timmerman; daughter-in-law, Susan Timmerman; and sister, Romaine Hansen.
