Tillie Stevens

Hastings resident, Tillie L. Stevens, 96, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Tillie's wishes were to have no services. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hastings Museum, 1330 N. Burlington Avenue, Hastings, NE 68901 or donor's choice.

Tillie was born December 19, 1915 in Oak, Nebraska to Frank & Kristina (Seffl) Nedbal. She received her master's degree in education from Kearney State College, now University of Nebraska Kearney. Tillie was a teacher for Alcott School until her retirement. She also taught in Oak, NE, Davenport, NE, rural District 55 and Clay Center, NE. She attended First United Methodist Church, and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Retired Teachers, Shriners Auxiliary, and past Eastern Star member. Tillie volunteered her time at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings Museum, and YWCA for many years.

Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.
