Timothy J. Boyd passed away peacefully at his home in Scottsdale, AZ, on February 22, 2025, at the age of 74.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (https://www.michaeljfox.org).
Tim was born in Hastings, NE, to Norma Jean (Becher) Boyd and Frank C. Boyd on October 4, 1950, and was the oldest of their five sons.
In 1968, Tim graduated from Hastings Senior High School. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he graduated in 1972. Following college, Tim worked for S.S. Kresge Corporation and later as a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch. In the early 1980s, Tim returned to Hastings to help his mother and brothers with the family business at Hastings Pepsi. He remained in Hastings until retiring and moving to Arizona in 2015.
Tim married Patricia (Milligan) Boyd in September of 1986. Together they have four children: Colleen E. (Boyd) Timm, Ryan P. Boyd, Nolan T. Boyd, and Maureen J. (Boyd) Barnes.
Tim was strongly dedicated to his work, community, and family. Along with being a co-owner of Hastings Pepsi, he was involved in the community through numerous organizations and local boards. He served on the Mary Lanning Hospital Board, Hastings College Board of Trustees, and the Wells Fargo Bank Board. Tim was also an active member and past president of the Hastings Rotary Club.
Tim is survived by his wife, Trish, and their four children: Colleen, Ryan, Nolan, and Maureen; his sons-in-law, Chad Timm and Robert Barnes; and his grandchildren, Warrick Timm and Estella Timm. He is also survived by his brothers: Bill Boyd, Frank Boyd, Mike Boyd, and Pat Boyd, along with their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Norma Boyd.
