Hastings resident Viola M. Kloepper, 92, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society – Grand Island, NE.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Lance Clay officiating. The family kindly invites those attending to dress in casual attire. Private family burial will be at Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Grand Island, NE. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Viola was born January 6, 1934, in Guide Rock, NE, to Willard & Hattie (Tumbleson) Rickard. She graduated from Chambers High School in 1951. Viola married Harlan Kloepper on December 28, 1953, in Chamberlin, S.D.; he preceded her in death on October 2, 2009.
Viola dedicated many years of service as a clerical employee with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), where she enjoyed maintaining friendships with fellow federal retirees. In her free time, Viola found great joy in painting ceramics and working on puzzles. She had a special love for animals and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family. Giving back to her community was also important to Viola, and she generously volunteered her time at the Golden Friendship Center.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan Kloepper; son, Gaylen Kloepper; son-in-law; Allen Weber, sister and brother-in-law; June & Howard Banks.
