Barbara Sanford

Hastings resident Barbara A. (Priel) Sanford, 77, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at The Kensington, Hastings, NE.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, August 31, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. with family present Thursday, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Barbara was born March 23, 1941, in Bertrand, NE to James & Dorothy (Schuldt) Priel. She went to and graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1959. She married Louis E. Sanford in January 1960; he preceded her in death in 2004. Barbara worked for the Clarke Hotel and became a homemaker. Of this marriage two daughters were born, Rachelle and Rhonda. Barbara was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for most of her life where she also taught Sunday School.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis E. Sanford; and brother-in-law, Raymond Sanford.
