Dale Mattison

April 15, 1955 — February 26, 2020

Hastings resident Dale L. Mattison, 64, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Kathy Uldrich officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Dale was born on April 15, 1955, in West Point, NE to Wayne L. & Eileen E. (Miller) Mattison. He graduated from Clay Center High School in 1973 where he excelled in wrestling. He was runner up in the state wrestling tournament his senior year, with only two losses, both to the state champion. Dale loved weightlifting, bodybuilding, and automobile drag racing. He was a businessman who operated an autobody shop in the 1970s and 1980s. Custom painting and restoring antiques and classics were his specialty. He won awards for his work at numerous car shows. Dale enjoyed rock and roll music and a good joke. His wry sense of humor and easy laugh will be missed. He attended Juniata United Methodist Church.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Wayne L. Mattison.
