Donna was born May 24, 1926, to William Lee and Theora Mae (Barnes) Shoup and resided on a farm near Hubbell, NE. In her youth, she enjoyed being outdoors with her father working on their farm and riding horses. She frequently shared fond memories of her childhood and her love of horses. The family eventually moved to Alexandria, NE, where she graduated from high school. Following high school graduation, she worked at the Martin Bomber Plant in Omaha which manufactured the Enola Gay modified B-29 plane. On March 9, 1947, she married Wesley D. Paul and they resided on a farm near Davenport, NE. Wes and Donna had two daughters, Carol and Linda.

After several years, the family moved to a farm near Ohiowa, NE, and operated a dairy farm. The family eventually moved to Nebraska City, NE, where Donna worked at the American Meter Plant for many years. Following her daughters' high school graduations, Donna relocated to Lincoln. On April 30, 1972, Donna married Fred W. Yuhl and they resided in Lincoln where Donna enjoyed her work career at Ameritas. Together, they enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, playing cards with friends, and their beloved dogs Sparky and Mia.

Donna and Fred relocated to Hastings after her retirement. Following Fred's death in 2004, Donna traveled to many places both in the United States and countries abroad. She had fond memories of her travels and spoke frequently about her adventures. Donna was active in her church and volunteer activities and enjoyed gardening, golf, embroidery, and sharing time with family and friends.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Society, Hastings Village, for the care and comfort provided to Donna during her residency.
